My local costco (Lansing, MI) dropped the price on this from $399 to $349. They had 5 left.

Bought it for 440 in November. Great TV. Roku smart TV is very responsive. Does not crash like my Sony Android TV.

Couldn't find any at my two local stores. Found a few 55s403 for $369. Any opinion on those?

Those are last years low end models. They're not the worst TV's out there, but far from the best. If that's the price you're looking to spend on a TV, you really can't do much better than it.

I got the 55S403 for $400 last June. It dropped to $370 a month later and then back to $400. I decided to switch to the 55C803 based on the reviews and a side by side picture comparison at Costco. It was $500 and dropped to $450 so I swapped. I'm very happy with my decision. For $350 it's a great buy. I don't know what the 2018 models will bring but I'm very happy with the 55C803.
The only option I wish it had was the headphone jack built into the remote so I could mute the TV speakers while the family is sleeping. That option was only available on the P series.
I don't think you can go wrong with the 55S403 either if they drop the price a bit.

Agreed. I have this TV. It dropped in price when I bought it and they refunded me the difference since it was in the 30 day window. Decent TV at a bargain price. I believe I also paid around $350 after they refunded the difference.

Which is the better model between the 55C807 VS 55C803? I purchased the 807 today on Rakuten (with the 25% back in points) but would be thinking the 803 too at Costco at that price

I have the 65" s403 and have been very happy with it. I haven't unboxed the 55" c803 I just bought, so I can't compare them. However, the s403 has great Roku integration, a good screen and decent brightness even in my overly-windowed living room. The sound is OK as well, though it will not compete with any real soundbar. The 55" s403 is a decent buy at $350, I think.

I believe they are the same. Costco always has the advantage of their return policy. The S models were all the same. Just different last digit for Amazon, Costco, Walmart and Best Buy to prevent price matching.

On the remote with the headphone jack. I was looking for a solution to that myself (buying new remote with that functionality, buying RF headphones, etc...) then stumbled across the functionality in the Roku app. It works great. Here's a link to Roku's webpage about the app. They call the functionality - private listening.

That is fantastic! Thank you!

And thanks as well to whichever moderator cleaned up my pathetic attempt to post a deal. Big Grin

Regarding the headphone jack, you might be able to buy an enhanced remote and pair it. Check this forum post

Whats funny is that rtings gave the S series a higher score than the C series.

The 807 has a mic in the remote for voice search. Otherwise they're identical sets.
