Best Buy has Blade Runner 2049 (Blu-ray) on sale for $9.99 this week. Select store pickup for another $1 off.

Add the Blu-ray set to cart, in cart select shipping first, and proceed to checkout. As stock permits, it'll give you $1 off at checkout for picking up in store (if it doesn't work try the same method in mobile site, not app).

Thx Op. Top notch cinematography. On the long side, so plan for that, but it's worth almost every minute. There's several great scenes & and it has replayability.

I know streaming is not comparable to discs but this is also streaming on HBO for those of you that just want to watch if.

No, the soap opera look is the result of newer TVs artificially "enhancing" video framerate to have more frames per second than the original video. You should always turn that setting off in your TV.

4k UHD means Ultra High Definition, 4 times the amount of pixels in "Full HD" 1080i. So it has no bearing on the motion of the video, like the artificial framerate increase that people think of as "Soap Opera" mode. 4k UHD is just a massive improvement in the detail of the picture - basically a good 4k video can look like real life at a certain distance back from the TV.

Enjoyed the movie, but I think I'll wait for the UHD Blu-ray to hit $10-13.

Any thoughts on how the 4k Blu Ray compares to the 4k digital version?

If you have a large 4K TV or a good home theater projector, I would consider this required for your collection. Absolutely visually stunning.

I've only seen the bluray version, but this movie begs to be seen in 4k w/ HDR

A YMMV option to save a few bucks on blu-ray -- Redbox has used discs for $7. Not 4K, but an option for some. https://www.redbox.com/movies/blade-runner-2049

Does 4k or 4k UHD mean that the scenes will have that weird "soap-opera" look? I hate that.

Right, I didn't read the details before I went into checkout and had to figure it out for myself.

Basically I chose Store Pickup initially, didn't get the discount, and then in the checkout page (before paying / final checkout) I chose Shipping option, then re-selected Store Pickup and then it applied the $1 discount.

Thanks OP, now I will have 3 movies to watch in my 4k blu-ray player. This one I already watched on Vudu with 4k streaming, and it was awesome. Don't forget to fire up the party bowl!
