I think for $7 more you can buy the dual band model if interested.

You have to watch these things. Bandwidth can be cut in half, I have another brand, dual band, and it has cross band, you can receive on one of the two bands and simultaneously transmit on the other, so 2.4 crossing to 5 GHZ, or the other way around. You can also set just the uplink to a frequency, the downlink to the other. Mine is set to allow logging into 2.4 GHz and the 5 ghz is only allowed to connect to the main router. Yes this cuts my bandwidth to 2.4GHz, but 2.4 GHz has the longest range, it is located where the shorter range 5 GHz has a strong signal, and the device can receive, transmit without round robin-ing....

So which band is better for single family one story home? Is dual band necessary?
