Amazon lightning deal. Invicta Pro Diver Automatic for $42.99 Silver with blue dial.

Yes I know it's an Invicta, and yes its just another Submariner Homage. But this is probably the one acceptable Invicta. As it comes with a Seiko NH35A movment.
Also the lowest Price according to CamelCamelCamel

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

The gold with black dial version is also on a lightning deal for $49.99

I believe the last time it was this low was around black Friday.

How would you automatically assess me when you saw me wearing my Ginault Ocean Rover? Or my Steinhart? Also . . . Really? Is it really that hard to understand why anyone would want to buy this watch?Just curious. What if I just happen to like the design of the Rolex sub, and don't have, or am not willing to pay $10,000 for it? Does that make me look-down-upon-worthy? What if I'm uncomfortable wearing that much in assets around in public (I certainly would never carry that much cash in public, are you kidding me?), and I feel it's nice to have a close-enough-approximation that's worry-free? What if I want to get into modding, but am happy to wear my watch around until the parts arrive? What if I'm new to automatic watches, and would rather spend $43 on one and, I don't know, save the rest for a future purchase . . . or to fund my son's college education? And am I really try to fool anyone? It's got "Invicta" written on it in three places, after all. Anyway, aren't these perfectly legitimate, understandable reasons why a person might buy this watch and wear it around unashamed? As for your philosophy of making your own style, do you look down on all of the non-original Fliegers that are out there? Or do you avoid Oreos for having copied Hydrox? Sigh . . . Please carry on. I'll go wear my Invictas in a cave, where I'll cry over it's poor lume . . .

I hate to be the guy that defends Invicta, because I generally hate their watches, but they make an excellent sub $100 Submariner clone. As for it being a Submariner clone - You know who else makes Submariner clones? Just about everyone ever. Seiko, Citizen, Oris, Tag Heuer Aquaracer? Sure. Build an iconic watch and it will be copied. There's not much more iconic than a Submariner, so there are lots and lots of copies by reputable companies. Some day I hope to own the ne plus ultra of Sub clones, a Tudor Black Bay (you know, since they don't make the Tudor Submariner anymore).

I owned an 8926OB until it was stolen in a break-in. I liked it a lot. It was bulletproof and I was guilt free when I rammed it into things. Bands are flimsy, but about typical for a $100 watch. I don't see any inherent superiority in the Orient Mako I bought to replace it.

Now to dump on Invicta, I will happily proclaim to anyone that any $ you spend over $100 is money thrown down the drain. Their expensive watches are gaudy crap (personal tastes issue, sure) with nothing but a few ounces of metal and worthless bling to distinguish them from their cheaper brothers.

This watch has a very solid Seiko automatic movement with hacking and handwinding, excellent water resistance, and a solid case. Weak 'link' is the bracelet, which is acceptable for the price point, but I usually upgrade.

Lots of people buff out the badging, replace the dial and hands with aftermarket, and have the equivalent of a $300 small batch for less than half that. But the stock watch is great if you don't mind the badging

Thanks for the post, I purchased this watch, not bad for a beater under $50, you can always put a Nato strap if you don't like the bracelet.

If I was not having the seiko snk807 I guess I would be all over this despite the fact that I prefer thinner watches...
Not sure why everyone is going 'crazy' after nato straps, I got a Milanese magnetic mesh stainless steel bracelet strap and I am very happy with look, feel and comfort of adjusting a bit up and down based on hand temperature, mood, need, etc...

Probably a reference to the huge "INVICTA" logo on the dial. Or that it's not a Rolex.

The Invicta logo. Invicta is so generally hated and looked down upon, that many people replace the face and polish out the engraving on the case to remove any mentions of the brand.

The Invicta Pro Diver is probably the only watch in existence, where the value goes up if you remove all the brand logos.

CCC says this is the lowest price ever. Seems like a good price for a decent watch to take to the pool/lake this summer.

I'd have tried it out if it was the black color version.

I still do not know some people dislike Invicta watches. I have some that are 20 years old and working great. Even the price per watch is easy to live with.
