HP Pavilion Desktop Tower, Intel Core i7-7700 , 16GB Memory, 2TB Hard Drive, Windows 10 home, 570-p033w was at my Walmart for clearance for $399. Brickseek shows some stores around me as low as $350, but YMMV and in store only.

Haven't opened it yet but the reviews and specs are great for the price.

Still a few at my local store. Hoping they get the next markdown so I can get one for $184. We'll see.

Limited stock locally at $184. Hmm. Might be worth the drive down.

Walmart follows a predictable markdown scale and several others have mentioned seeing $184 in some stores already. The issue is that they will be gone before the next markdown, which is always a risk you take.

Is there a reason why this desktop is not getting as much love here as HP Pavilion Power 580-023w Gaming Tower [walmart.com] was getting 6 months ago for ~$300?

I'd say even for $399 it might be a very good option with i7-7700 (that alone is sold for $305 @ Newegg [newegg.com])

Do I miss anything here? (apart from this one having only integrated video)

The other one had a dedicated 1060 that was selling for like $250 by itself. That's a pretty huge difference.

Fair point, thanks - I don't do gaming/mining, so I know nothing about graphic cards, but wanted something with fast CPU...

Is the next markdown date known or is it random for each location?

Hope you have some friend on the inside to hide you one.
I would consider snatching one at $399, but stores with that price level are all out of stock near me. Only ones with stock are at $759. I need a WM electronics dept. associate for a friend at one of those stores. Hmmm. Maybe some food for thought.

It's always YMMV. Some store managers are very aggressive and mark stuff down. Others hold out for the higher prices quite long. Luckily, my local store is pretty aggressive with mark downs. I'm hoping to see $184 real soon Smilie
