Thanks, been meaning to get one of these for years. Seems like a pretty good price.

Great tool, but just note that it is not variable speed. It's a 2 speed. I have this same Dremel tool and it works really well.

Do u think the variable speed makes much of a difference? I haven't really used one of these before, but am looking for something to use around the house once in a while for light to medium duty projects. Should the 2 speed meet most of my needs?

Dremel is kinda overpriced since they are the name brand for rotary tools. If you want a cheaper but functionally the same tool you can buy WEN or Black & Decker

For detail work "variable" is a very nice addition.

Honestly variable speed is not an absolute necessity, but it is very nice to have. I used to have a variable speed model that was great, but it crapped out on me for some reason after probably 15 years, and I got this 2 speed for Christmas after that one messed up.

I saw other posts saying the WEN model has variable speed but since I don't have one of those I can't vouch for it.

how does this compare to the milwaukee rotary tool? I know it's 3x more expensive than this, but it's also cordless and has a solid battery platform that in plugged into. speaking performance wise,
