Brand new unit at a seemingly unbeatable price + looks like you get a free $25 gift card as well. Shipped free.
Also includes a battery, I'm in for at least one of these. Everyone else is in the $400-$500 range.

Aren't Dewalt's 40v models becoming obsolete and bring replaced with the Flexvolt stuff?

Looks like the Amazon ad is sold by Kotula's, which is owned by Northern Tool, but you don't get the gift card.

40v are geared toward the professional landscape crew. Bigger batteries with longer runtime. The individual tools are beefier (heavy) as well.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't buy into the 40v system

Dewalt 40v > Dewalt Flexvolt (60v) (don't let the marketing fool you, the 40v is much "beefier" as another poster stated. Just look at the size of the battery itself, it's almost double the size.

40v is catered towards professionals
60v is catered towards homeowners

Only downside with 40v is they have a very limited selection of tools, but it just got better with a lawnmower at least.

On a side note, this deal is actually a really good one since it includes the 7.5ah battery, which I believe is the beefiest they have!

And when they release the 60v yard tools I'm sure they will be just as, if not more, powerful as the 40v

Case in point. The 60v handheld blower is more powerful then the 40v equivalent.

There's absolutely no reason for DeWalt to build out their 40v line further instead of moving to 60v. Other then to keep selling people other battery ecosystems.

Yeah... But they are just being released now... My point is that Flexvolt is better and that the only advantage that 40v lineup has is that the Flexvolt yard lineup hasn't been fully built up yet

do NOT buy the 20v x2 lawnmower, It is absolutely horrible. I'm fully invested in the dewalt 20v/flexvolt tool line so i got the flexvolt trimmer and 20v blower. I went with the ego mower after the reviews came out for the dewalt mower and couldn't be happier. I wouldn't touch the 40v any longer now that flexvolt/60v is out.
Here's my ego review if your interested:

Hmm, I'm not sure how to be more clear than my previous post, but the 60v Flexvolt is NOT better than the 40v line. The 40v line is better than the Flexvolt. I'm sure a google search or even a visit to the Dewalt website will help since you don't believe me (which is fine, I try not to believe everything I read online). Like I said before, they are not phasing out the 40v because of the Flexvolt. Of course everything will get phased out with time and something else will replace that line or simply discontinue it, but the Flexvolt as it is right now is not replacing the 40v because the Flexvolt is INFERIOR and only targeted for homeowners. 40v is targeted for Professionals who use these tools for a living. I'm not sure based on that point alone why you would think the Flexvolt is better. I do understand however that you see the 60v and automatically think that it's better than 40v, but that's purely a marketing thing.

Of course I'm not recommending that people start buying the 40v over the Flexvolt as homeowners. If I had to start from scratch, I would definitely be buying the Flexvolt as a homeowner just for the versatility and the tool lineup available. It should cover about everybody's needs. Even if they didn't come out with the Flexvolt, I would still recommend just buying the 20v outdoor tools if you were already invested into that system as it should be more than adequate for most homeowners.

For homeowners that don't even use outdoor tools, I would usually recommend the 12v line vs 20v as it's more than capable of doing almost anything an average homeowner needs to do and have a much better experience while doing it.
