I would be very careful with third party docks or chargers for the Switch. There have been many reports of people damaging their system.

What about third party AC adapters? Can I use my USB AC power adapter from my laptop to charge my Switch? Or will that brick it too?

Only safe if the cable connecting your laptop to the Switch is a cable made by Nintendo.

The problem is that the Switch doesn't use standard compliant USB C voltages. Nintendo's cables have a non-standard resistor in their cables. Real USB C cables will damage the system if the battery is full.

Not a single review to go off of. I would be very weary about buying this knowing that so many switches out there have been bricked by 3rd party docks. I hope nobody learns the hard way from this.

I wouldn't even try. It's the USB-C that's the issue because nintendo broke the standard. I would only use official charging cables for the switch, including the docks.
