With $100 coupon from Microcenter Dell promotion, the G3 GTX1060MQ variant costs $700 + tax. I got the coupon simply because I'm subscribed and I think it shouldn't be hard

It's not a great laptop, but for some who like the more casual looks, it can be a match + there is no a lot of competition.

More specs:
- 1080p IPS display, lower quality (typical 45% NTSC). Some people replaced it successfully
- has M.2 + 2.5" SATA bay

reviews: I5, 1050 Ti [glj.io], youtube [youtube.com]

Does anyone have any tricks in getting the discount code? Just signing up for their mailing list did not work for me.

I got this laptop with the last deal. I7 with 1050ti, it's fairly solid for light gaming and more than enough for photo editing/video editing. I5 with 1060 mq should have the same performance-ish. Just my two cents...

How do you get this $100 coupon? Is this a student deal type of thing?

Actually performance will be much higher on the i5/1060 for gaming. The difference between i5 and i7 last Gen was small for gaming, this year even less so. And the 1060 is a big jump over the 1050 ti.

Dell's entire G3 line is hard to beat for the features vs $$$. Keybard is more like a non-gaming laptop though. At first glance, it appears to be a typical Inspiron 5000/7000 series save for some minor accents and the emphasized AWSD keys. The differences between the G3 line and other gaming laptops are the looks - there are no cooling fins and grills on it, the backlit keyboard is not programmable and has only one color and two intensities. But compare the hardware vs any other current manufacturer, and the Dell always comes in for less. Two M2 ports and one SATA. All plastic and understated looks for what lies inside. I have one and am very pleased.

If you have a decent video card in your PC, then you can mirror/stream it to your basic laptop, using Steam, online or offline, legal or not, being steam games, or not. I've just heard that for many games not in their library, the controllers aren't mapped automatically.
So if your laptop and router are fast enough wirelessly, or have a gig switch and lan jack, (Could do 4k game/movie streaming to another TV) you are set.
There are even ways to stream away from home, like at a library, or a friends house, or ahmm: Work, whatever that is.

Wait, is the screen the same used on the 5570, that gets mixed reviews?

Edit: Yep, 46% of the RGB....I think it was the same with the 5570.

Say, if I wait for Amazon, or BF, might I find a Slicker Deal some 1080p, 7th-8th gen, or AMD Ryzen 15.6 laptop refurbished model? Amazon does 20% off of Warehouse Deals, and during Amazon Day, other companies also have sales, like its the summer of BF!
Anyways, it was $360 for the dell 5570 + tax, but I was wary of the screen. If any other company comes out with something under $400, I might bite.

1. 20% off amazon warehouse now?
2. Don't get the I7 for gaming. No use, considerably hotter
