Q. How old do I have to be?

You must be between 18 and 55 years old.

Q. Do I have to be healthy?

Your eyes must be healthy and you can't have any medical conditions that impact your vision. You can't use Online Vision Test if you have had diabetes.

Q. Do I need a prior Rx from an eye doctor?

Yes. If you don't know your Rx, we can get a copy from your last doctor. But this might cause delays in getting your online prescription.

Q. Will it work for my vision?

We only provide prescriptions between -10.00 and +3.50 in spherical strength (SPH), -0.25 and -3.00 in cylinder power (CYL) and +0.25 and +4.00 in add power (ADD). Your previous prescription is required for all new contacts and most glasses prescriptions.

Q. Can I use this for my State?

Our service is available in the following 37 states: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

If your old script is expired, but you are happy with the prescription, then you get it renewed for free without being held for ransom.

My vision insurance covers the exam, but takes it out of the allowance for contacts. If I would use the full allowance for contacts, it's like the exam is not covered at all. Oddly, the coverage for glasses examination is separate, so I get that, and look for free contact renewals like this one. You can also order contacts from places that don't require a prescription. 'Cause the 6-month contact prescription expiration, or 1-year if you're lucky, is BS!

Another thing to consider is that contact lens prescriptions are brand specific. If you want to switch to daily or extended, you're out of luck. Pay up for a new prescription! Do I have to photoshop my old prescription?! Hey, wait a minute...

If you're looking to do this so you can order more contacts without an exam/prescription, you can just order them from the UK instead. I used Vision Direct last time and it wasn't any more expensive than from US sellers. Still, I recommend getting an exam every couple years. If you didn't know, they're screening you for glaucoma when they puff air into your eyes.
