It depends upon what you need to run. I have a Dell Venue Pro 8 that runs pretty much the same CPU, RAM, etc., and it still works like a champ. Light duty for sure, but still usable.

This is actually a pretty competent little system, compared to other atom tablets I've had this is one of the quickest. The limited memory can hold it back some but I use it to RDP into a more powerful system and it works flawlessly for that. Cheap docks are available on ebay for connectivity, battery is user replaceable, mine works dandy with an active stylus (I think these are synaptic's digitizers) and it charges fine over standard micro usb (although there is a higher amp charger included).

All in all not bad. When not using RDP it's fine with a couple tabs in chrome and some light application duty. I wouldn't Photoshop CC on it but smaller drawing apps, onenote, that sort of stuff. Easy. Hope this helps, debating getting a spare but thinking a real Surface for a whole lot more might be in order.

Good for social media stuff like youtube, facebook, etc? Thinking of getting a dozen to give away to relatives in Laos.

Edit: Nvm, thinking an Android device may be better as they don't know how to use a Windows device

Oh man I remember when this came out - it was an awesome system with a great screen. And you can use the Dell Digital Stylus with it.
