For a Macbook Air it's a good price. Build quality, performance, and battery life rock. I'm in the Apple ecosystem.

$650/700 for that big ass silver bezel, low res display, and no way to upgrade the storage drive, it's still overpriced.

I don't see how anyone can defend Apple continuing to sell this trash...unless you're a shareholder

well I guess the excuse now is

"It has ports"
"it doesn't have the shitty keyboard"

it's a sad day for Apple if we have to say that

Any reason to own one of these if I'm a huge apple fan but already have the 12" MacBook and the 13" pro with touchbar?
Ports mainly. I use it over the 13 MBP because it works fine and I like the keyboard better.

I forgot about this! I used to own an air and it was the best keyboard I've ever owned. Do the airs still have the Apple signal light up on the back and mag safe?

Yup. It's a bit older specs but at this price it's great.

I can edit 4K on this with patience. The screen is a disgrace though. Performance is awesome if you don't multitask.

There are rumors of a MacBook Air refresh that hopefully updates the display. My 2011 MBA is chugging but has the same resolution display, similar ssd size (no usb 3/ 802ac). The MBA line has been terribly updated over the years. It's crazy that 7 years later, they still don't have 16GB or retina as an option.
