You would have to use these tools several hours daily for years before wearing out the brushes. Home users will probably never wear them out and professionals, if they actually would ever have to replace brushes, could do it quickly and at minimum expense.

There are many advantages to brushless over brushed (efficiency, size, weight, etc.), but the rare need to replace worn out brushes is way down on the list.

These are brushed ones but for a home owner these should be plenty.

There's an almost identical set from Milwaukee at the B&M Costco near me for $229.00. I don't know the specs of each tool off hand but it is the number / type.

I don't understand the "was" prices listed of this posted listing versus this one. Is one set different models and better?

I know some of my friends who use tools like this for a living prefer older brushed models. Is that just a
"they don't make them like they used to" mentality or are there any benefits to brushed tools?

If you consider the brush being a wearable item leading to certain failure an advantage then sure

Yours comes with a hammer drill and a different version of the circular saw.

6 1/2" circular saw with the cheaper deal better than losing out on the hammer drill?

That's depends entirely if you need a circular saw or a hammer drill

Edit: it's the same saw in both kits.

The main difference is the $400 kit has the hammer drill and a 5.0 battery vs the OP kit with the 3.0 battery.
