Can this be used to feed led lights since its output has '+12V@40A'?

Yes. But you will need a jumper wire and switch with a little know how to power it on. Then you will want to Ballance the 12v wires to make sure you don't go over the wire amperage rating or run them in parallel.

I'm passing because it's not modular but have a question none the less because I'm thinking about buying the modular model. Bronze\Gold only signifies efficiency correct? It doesn't have any bearing on quality?

Edit: Actually I should point out that B&H has the semi-modular version of this for only $10 more after similar $20 mail in rebate. $49.99 - $20 = $29.99

Bronze/Gold says nothing about quality just efficiency
That being said....the higher rating often indicates better internals...
EVGA Bronze systems are good PSUs....so they are fine despite the rock bottom price here.

that one is white instead of bronze... at the same price the EVGA will save some money in electricity over its life...

At 50% load the bronze is 5% more efficient than white.. so... over 500 hours of use about $1 of electricity...

It depends on how many hours per day you use the system and at what load percent. Here is a power supply Efficiency savings Calculator [orionpsudb.com] to help give a better idea of the saving you can get by buying a 80 Plus gold or higher rated power supply.

I wouldn't put this low end Bronze power supply in a mid/high-end gaming system. If it takes a dump on you or the fan starts making noises, it's not worth RMA'ing, it would cost you 90% of the product original cost in shipping fee's.

Pass on B1, capacitor is no good.

Corsair CX450/550 is better quality.
