Darn, if only my daughter wasn't 6 and built like a 10 year old, I would totally get this. Seeing it's 3 and up, she definitely would be too big for it.

Pretty sure they would be since they're probably motorless too.

How do these compare with Ryobi or Dewalt?

Way better for imaginary construction IMO, but YMMV.

Not as good as Dewalt but better than Ryobi.

Blows my Husky workbench out of the water. Hand tools are cheap but the bench alone makes it a steal.

My experience has been that most young boys don't really play with workbenches that much.

What they do enjoy? Buy an inexpensive set of battery operated toy power tools, a few toy hand tools, mainly a hammer and some screw drivers, then buy a decent nylon tool bag at Home Depot or Walmart, put the tools in the bag and they will love it.

This is one of my go to toy options for 3 to 5 year old boys, always a hit, the boys love the noises and action of the power tools, the bag encourages putting their tools away and allows them to take the tools with them as they visit grandma and others.

Believe it or not my youngest daughter likes toys like this. I guess every kid will be different but my bio father was a carpenter, I do a lot of woodworking so I guess it's something she naturally likes.

This Kidcraft one is a very good quality; I got my DD the cheaper Melissa & Doug one which was a pain to build. A baby store has this Kidcraft and the detail and what you can build with it seems more fun. Definitely worth the money IMO.
