Micro Center offers HP Pavilion 590-p0020 SFF Desktop with AMD Ryzen 3 2200G Quad Core CPU, 4GB DDR4 Ram, 1TB 7200 RPM HDD, AMD radeon VEGA 8 IGP, Win10H @ $299.99 with free In-Store Pickup. Otherwise, shipping is $28.10.

For a cheap SFF computer, this offers plenty of connectivity option. It has 3x SATA III ports and one is available for adding a 2.5" Drive and one M.2 22x80 Slot is available for adding M.2 SSD. So, you can add 2 storage more on this.
Also, it has 1x PCIe X16 and one PCIe X4 slot available for future Card updates.

Another thing is that, it supports all the Ryzen and Ryzen + Processors with 65W TDP, including Ryzen 7 2700. So, if you need more processing power down the line, buy a cheap GPU like RX 550 (65W TDP) and a 6 or 8 Core Ryzen CPU and it will support your needs like a champ.

1060 can be handled but for 1070, I think it is. However, this is an unlocked CPU, so you can overclock.

I don't think you can convert this to a gaming desktop. Ryzen APUs are designed to provide decent gaming performance at lower settings, especially for EA sprot games, with lower power consumption and this Desktop is no exception. Buying this and then adding a GTX 1070 on this is not really a good idea.

This is equivalent to roughly a ivy bridge i5, adding a 1050 or 1060 would be fine (with a psu upgrade for the 1060 probably)

In cart summary look for the down arrow to the right right of in store pickup for more ship options.

Is this computer good for office stuff, web browsing, emailing, photo editing-Shutterfly and such, phone backups or is it an overkill? Our 10yr old HP desktop (monitor still works) just died and we need a replacement ASAP. Thanks for any input🌺

If you were able to do your work on a 10 year old computer, damn near any new computer bought today will be able to do that workload with ease. This one included. If the price is right for you, it is not overkill. They don't really get a whole lot cheaper than this.

I don't recommend to buy any HP desktops to any of my friends/colleagues or company. Bought a pair of HP desktops and there is no room for upgrades or expandability at the PSU, PCI-e slots, RAM slots or even SATA ports. None. The most an HP PC will do is a hard drive replacement or possibly a CPU replacement if the BIOS supports it. Pay an extra $30 for a better brand.
I mean... This one has a pcie x16 slot open
