AMD boards: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...625%204809

Intel motherboards: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...627%204809

use promo code: 615MQTYS20

there are a few H110 motherboards that are not eligible for this promo, but they are junk and you shouldn't buy them anyway.

open box items are still have the original manufacturer's warranty.

Error The promo code 615MQTYS20 is for a product not in your shopping cart. Please check your promo code and try again.

Apparently not for all open box boards. (MXF)

Anyone have experience with open box buys at Newegg? They ten not to let you return anything unless it's legit busted, so newegg and open box in the same sentence scares me a bit.

I have a Newegg premiere they let me return whatever with no penalty. I'm not sure what happens if you don't and the product is not broken. I bought ASUS x399 zenith last time they did this for $220. New was $500+. It worked out pretty well. It was missing some SATA cables and manual but worked great. You can get the manual online and I have buckets of SATA cables.

Got a LGA1155 mini itx asus board from them one time. Arrived with bent cpu pins. Had no issue exchanging it but goes to show they don't check them properly before selling open box returns.

Confirmed with Newegg customer service that open box items DO NOT come with manufacturer's warranty.

Most, however, do come with Newegg's standard 30 day return policy.

In my experience its been really good. I've bought motherboards and laptops open box. You get everything you need except original packing. Products are still under warranty and they give you a return time usually.

Could anyone suggest a good open box MB and an affordable CPU to accompany it?
I haven't built a PC in awhile and have no idea the ideal price:performance ratio for CPUs right now. AMD or Intel.
