This is similar to an existing deal where the batteries are packaged separately but free when purchased with these kits. That deal still appears to be active.

Now, the extra batteries are included for the same price. The Q&A on a couple of these items indicates that the extra batteries qualify for LSA since they are part of the kit. HOWEVER - numerous posts below, and the Home Depot description do seem to indicate that the two 4ah battery pack is just that-a free pack. So, it's likely they won't be LSA eligible. BOO!

Also, I assume the batteries can't be returned separately in these packages.

$249 brushless hammer-drill-driver and impact: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGI.../305250777

$399 brushed 5 piece set: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGI...250786-_-N - OOS

See the links to the kits in this other post if you want the 4ah batteries listed separately (in order to return one item and retain discount on the other):

Q&A on the battery item page says not LSA eligible
Battery bonus item: AC840087P

Anyone have first hand experience ? LSA coverage is very nit picky, so don't expect an exception/CSR to override their policy. If it comes IN the kit, it gets LSA. I don't think bonus pack, even though bought with the kit, will count. YMMV

With this purchase you do not have to add the 2 extra batteries as a separate item, and they do not appear as a separate item in cart. That, plus the answers in the Q&A's in two of these items - answers that appear to have come directly from Ridgid - lead me to believe all 4 batteries will be LSA eligible.

On the Ridgid warranty registration page it asks for the package model number. When you put in the package it does not have the four batteries listed but only the two inside the package. This is at least my experience when I purchased this a month ago.

Interesting, thank you for sharing this. Is there any way to determine the package number of this item without having the box? I'm going to cancel my order if I can't get LSA for all 4 batteries.

Batteries which come in a box with tools and/or charger are covered by the LSA and are registered as part of a kit. Batteries which come in their own box are considered to be accessories and have the 3-year warranty.

There is no LSA on the 4.0Ah battery packs in any form at this point. I'm pretty sure that is why they're selling them in separate packaging so far. They have a 3 year warranty max with receipt when registered and no more. I think that's why they are being offered in this way, probably not a great seller for them without the LSA.

Look at the model number towards the top left of the item page. The first five digits (i.e. R9603) are the package model number that you would use to register the kit for the lifetime service agreement and would include the tools themselves, the charger, and the two batteries that come in the box. The bonus batteries can't be registered for the LSA and have a 3-year warranty.

So do they ever have sales on LSA eligible 4.0 batteries and up? I don't think I have ever seen that happen?

It looks like the extra batteries aren't LSA eligible. They're probably selling them together as one SKU to prevent returning the items separately

You can return the extra batteries separately, I got the 179 set and the battery return was ~$61. I then grabbed the 4ah and 2ah with charger pack through google express (with first time buyer code) for $75. All are covered by LSA.
