Strange, they won't let me buy it. Must "reserve" one and go pay at he store. Gotta go there anyway but I'll be pissed if they don't have my printer after driving all the way out there!

I already have one. Just want it for the ink!

You can always price match if you don't have a microcenter near you.
In my case, I bought it from best buy then saw micro center sale. I went online and they said I have to go in store. I went to store and they did it without issue. The CS opened his phone and look up the printer at micro center (I guess to confirm that the location near them still have it). I think trying to price match online is easier.

I got shot down when i tried to pricematch at Best Buy store last time, when Best Buy sold it for $79.99. They said they wouldn't pricematch when 'competitor price is limited quantity' i.e. limit 1 per household like stated at Microcenter website. I had to buy from my local Microcenter in the end.

I also got them from Staples, and received from RMN "$10 Cash Back When You Spend $75+" . It is sometimes $15 for 75, but usually 10.

I first order, then moments later chat and ask for a price match. The 110% price match is then reflected in order, and RMN cash back is available some weeks later. Limit 5 per retailer per 30 days.

For ink, I got this 40k for $20.75 [ebay.com], or less with the occasional eBay coupon. (Add to cart or save to list, and buy when there is a coupon.) I will only buy ink that clearly states "pigment" in listing; if PGI250XL is dye instead of pigment, it can ruin the printer over time.

The eBay link you posted states pigment for the black but dye for the colors, have you had issues with the colors being dye?

First the bad, if your a person who prints like one thing a day this printer might get on your nerves. It has a start up that takes like 1-2 minutes. Second bad I am pretty sure they no longer support printing from your smart phones using the webserver url through your phone, its been awhile since I used it but I do recall getting a discontinued feature email about it awhile ago. So if you plan on printing from your phone might not be a possibility any longer.

Now all the good, first printer that I had that never had a clogged print head. The very long start up cycle keeps the print heads in tip top shape by cycling inks constantly. I have even had it sit for over 3-6 months and had no issue. You can get tons of cheap ink for this on amazon and save a bundle. The print quality of photos and anything you want high quality is excellent. The document scanner on top works very well. The wireless built into the print which makes it shareable on the network works well and I have never had a issue with it. Currently this printer has lasted me over 4 years now I believe? Could be a little longer.

In the short if you don't mind the slow starts this is an amazing printer with amazing functionality that is impossible to beat for this price.

Printer:
Have this printer for a couple years now, picked up from Staples from an old SD for $60.

Works very well and tempted to get another in case mine every crap out. Haven't experienced any issues (yet, no jinx!) but love the duplex print and scan, printing from mobile takes a little initial setup but if you've ever used Google Print before it's easy.

Ink:
From the last deal someone recommended the following inks - I'm on my first full refill set and very happy still. I've seen comparisons of these inks vs Canon official, under a magnifying glass, but nothing at all noticeable I've seen.

4 full sets for $18 was a no brainer for me!

What have you been using this for? I have a 'PIXMA' alert set up because I want to get a home photo printer (mainly to use all the photo paper I stocked up on the last time I had an inkjet printer).
What kind of yield do you get from a set of ink? e.g. how many 4x6 or how many 8x10 prints?

Thanks!

I've never heard of Microcenter 'til this am. I already have 1 MX-922 since April--the photos & all printing come out GREAT

This is re PGI. CLI is dye. PGI in PGI250XL stands for pigment. Canon's PGI is filled with pigment but most generic sellers fill them with dye, which causes problems over time. I used to contact sellers when it is not mentioned and after multiple confirmations that it is all dye, because it cost slightly more, unless seller states "pigment", assume it is dye.
