Walmart return/rebuy on clearance?

Hi all,

Brickseek tells me that there is a TV on clearance at one Walmart for $850, but the Walmart on the other side of town says $250, but no stock of course. Any chance/tips/tricks toward buying at the 850 store, taking it to the 250 with the receipt to return for full refund, then rebuying at their 250 price? Or do I just sit and wait and hope the 850 store will lower their price? There are many stores around with the 850 price showing inventory, and multiple with the 250 without...

Thanks!

the example you gave if you return that tv to walmart, it will be bought by an employee....not you.

here's what i did and i think it is still ymmv. i ordered the item off walmart.com at full price and had it delivered to the store. since the store is supposed to have 3 items in stock but they cannot find them, the electronics employee asked me to order it online and have it delivered to the store next week. when it arrives, come find him and he will adjust the price to the lower store price.

but of course since i alerted them to the incredibly low clearance price, it's only natural that all 3 ghost items disappeared within a week even though they couldn't find them. when my product arrived, the store stock said 0. i confronted the employee and he realized he was stuck because he promised me. he had to go see his manager to do a big price adjustment manual override and i left the store happy. i should go back there to see if he still works there, i kinda feel sorry for him.

the difference in this process is 1) you get permission beforehand and 2) technically the price is supposed to automatically adjust when the product arrives so it's not exactly price matching with another store which walmart doesn't do. it's not exactly a return/re-buy but more of a price adjustment.
