Haha not well. the RX480/580 line goes head-to-head with the Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB models.

I think they have higher clock base clock speeds and can OC better. I have this card and it's been great. Crazy that I got it for $180 at a normal price over a year ago though.

Depends on your needs, but I would rather get a 1070ti at less than retail than a 580 over retail price. This is a good card with decent stock speeds and really good cooler for OC/quiet. If you need these but dont want to pay 150 more for a 1070ti go for it. Other opinions if you dont care for a great cooler and quiet rig.... there has also been 580 deals going around 240 for not a great cooler but still runs fine at stock speeds......

Product ID for Newegg is N82E16814202280.

I must have too many browser extensions because the OP link didn't work for me unless I opened an incognito window.

Not bad. I got the same one except it's a RX480 and it still runs great but I upgraded to the MSI 1080 Duke.

how do these stack up against the nvidia 1080s? They're what we use at work and I love them.

With the given prices, do you think this card is worth $280? Also I haven't really seen any recent deals on 580s, so would you say this is a decent deal? Either way, I will probably just wait another month and see if anything changes. Thanks!

Worth it at $300? In california and tax puts it just a hair over $300. Everyone says these will keep dropping, but I need an updated card to do some video editing, and I don't have time to wait for a potential drop IF new cards are announced. Plus, if they do dip significantly what's to stop miners from snapping them up again at low prices?

Between samsung or hynix... Doesn't matter too much for gaming, they both are good memory and overclock about the same, just RNG silicon.

That's helpful, thanks. I haven't totally figured out if AMD vs Nvidia is better for a Mac Pro tower. There's less out there to read about, and I know in earlier versions of OSX AMD played nicer with mac than Nvidia, but maybe that's moot these days with the newer egpu support. I'm trying to jump from FCPX to Davinci Resolve, and want to get a card with a fair amount of vram that will last me a little while longer.
