Ok guys. This is a great deal but not a good idea. I will explain. If someone has black mold and its using this unit the mycotoxins will stay in the unit. This unit does not filter everything. When you bring it to your home. You will contaminate your living space. This is the risk of buying reconditioned units. Unless all the parts are brand new. I do not think this is worth the risk. I have an older unit and its great but they can't match iqair performance.

I have one of these C535 units (from Costco). Excellent filter, as good or better than anything I've used in the past.

Reconditioned? By whom? To what level? How thoroughly was it cleaned? I guess if it's in crappy shape you can just do a return from Woot

is saving $25 worth it to get a "reconditioned" one ? seems those $85 GE deals pop up every 2 months

This model hasn't been cheaper than $99 new,. save for those times there have been generic Google Express offers

I would say it's worth it since you are almost certain to get brand new filters

Yeah I edited my comment which you quoted, that coupon wasn't specifically for the air purifier, it was across Google Express for new users

Cleaning and sending out a used filter would risk sending unknown contaminates to people. You think they'd risk a law suit by sending out used filters?

Who cares if it's through GE or not. These could be had for in the $80's numerous times. Saving $20 but haven't a clue how these we're actually "reconditioned" seems dumb

Lawsuit on what grounds? You knowingly bought a used product your case wouldnt even make it to trial

and who said anything about them sending out a used filter? I didn't say that, did someone else?
