When I search for POV a whole bunch of porn shows up. Is that what this is used for? That explains the loop on the base...

POV = Point Of View

Loop is used for hand holding, as opposed to tripod or selfie stick mount. Wrap fingers in loop to hold camera. Other joby attachments allow for phone to be mounted on chest strap or helmet cam. Pics on b&h illustrate.

Doesn't appear to have a 1/4" mount on the bottom. Would have been so much more useful with 1/4" threads added, so it could be used on tripod or stick. Limited use without the 1/4" mount.

Great bait, I didn't think anyone would bite.

Anyways, the bluetooth shutter on this is kinda cool. It works with the default camera and OpenCamera. It also has a GoPro style mount so you can put it on other stuff.

Anyone know the grip quality on this for the phone? I want to mount it to my Joby bike mount. Worried it may not secure phone well enough for bumps, though

I bought two of these last time B&H had them at this price (holidays 2017). Pretty decent build but unless you are in the media business full time, these will not get much use. I much prefer gimble mounts over this. It doesn't offer you much (if anything) on stabilizing shots. As others have said, it just offers BT capability. I mean for $10 bucks - it's a toy. Buy one and play with it and then forget about it.

Yeah, but then the camera would be sideways, and it would just be recording...

You know, I think I'm going to stop trying to visualize this πŸ˜€

It's not a stabilizer. Just a holder
