Plan your purchase before you go using their website planning tools, [ikea.com]apps [ikea.com]. Measure your space, take pictures, will you be blocking any outlets, light switches? This will help you in case you find something you didn't plan on buying. You won't have to wonder if it works and you won't have to make another trip.
TIP#1: If planning to do more than one transaction to maximize savings, you can always check out, take your purchase to Furniture Delivery/Pick Up, sign a form. They will make a copy of your receipt, hold the cart for you until you pick it up - which must be done by end of day! Repeat. Save. Maybe Treat Yo Self and go have lunch at a nice place nearby because you are going to be starving by then. Come back when you are ready with your receipts, park in loading zone, go inside to that same place, show your receipts and load up.
TIP#2: It is a PDF so you can save to iBooks, etc.
TIP#3: Sign up for IKEA Family [ikea-usa.com] b/c anything in store with Orange Price Tag needs that for the discounted price. You can download the App so you can show your card on your phone at the same time you are showing the coupon. This is not a credit card.
TIP#4: IKEA Family card holders can do price adjustments within 90 days so always scan your card, even if you are not buying a Family offer item. If they lower the price it is like having price protection, so you can bring your receipts back and get some money back!
TIP#5: Although it says not good with other offers, I was able to use it with all the clearance items they had during old catalog/new catalog time of year, so I would think it would work regardless.
TIP#6: Check their Desktop website for your local store's page [ikea-usa.com] - they have additional offers listed there and many Local Stores have their own twitter pages where they list deals. Offers do not appear on mobile versions of store pages.
TIP#7: Download the App for the list making abilities. It shows you the location of your items in your warehouse in one place. Also shows you stock. Use desktop site for better stock check though because you can click the stock prognosis button for more accurate stock.
TIP#8 While you are there, go to the "i" desk before you leave, ask them for the secret extension to get a live person at that desk if you ever have to call your local warehouse and actually get a real live person!
TIP#9 In case you never heard that there was a recall on many, many, many dressers going years back. You can read about it here [ikea.com] and get some cash for your old dresser and or upgrade, with likely an additional cost.
