$600 / 5 = $120 "per camera" w/ Basestation

Decent price drop from when it first came out.

Should see some nice deals come this next BF-cyberweek.

Good system, it isn't really old, they just have a 2nd version called Arlo Pro 2, which is 1080p. The rest of the extra features of the Arlo Pro 2 require wired install so if you are looking for all wireless Arlo. This version is still best imo.

Arlo Pro 2 is for the most part, only useful or better if you plan on wiring the cameras to power.

Solid deal, but I did pick up the 4 camera for $429 on ebay after $100 off early in the month, or about $108 each.

$50 more to add the 6th camera. Seems like an even better deal to get 6 camera system for $649. Drops the price per camera down from $120 to $108.

On the fence about this vs Pro 2... Not sure I "need' the 1080, but I'm sure someone here can commiserate with my indecision...

Repped.

Hi Crazy,

Do keep an eye out for this from Costco - they will eventually have a deal on it if they do not already and their return policy is superior to others on security cameras.

Hi Noobikenobi

If you own your home, do take a closer look at a wired setup - while the Arlo wirefree products are neat - they do suffer from reliability and fit for purpose issues as a security camera.

Hi Smokey,

Depends on what you need the camera to do.

Here is the ID distance, theoretical. ( to 100 ppf ) - real life conditions it will be this or less.

Arlo Pro / Arlo Go / Netgear Flexpower HD camera 720p at 130 degress: 5.644 feet { 36.12 sq feet covered }
Arlo 720p at 110 degrees: 6.67 feet { 42.68 sq feet covered }
Arlo Pro 2 1080p at 130 degrees: 8.47 feet { 81.34 sq feet covered }

I bet netgear could implement most of the Pro2 features on the Pro with a firmware update, but won't cause it'll cannibalize sales...

roflmao - indeed!

And I recall the gen-1 Arlo base station having a USB port which they promised we could use for local storage "soon" once they did a little more software dev work... lol, never happened!
