While not the fault of the manufacturers, I will stay away from glass. Spent way too much money replacing them every time there is a crack and it's just not worth the hassle. Just get a stainless steel one. Easier to clean and retains the temperature better. It's so obvious why they sell it in a glass form.. break and repurchase. From my experience, there is no difference in coffee taste between a stainless steel vs glass. There's some good ones from eBay for like $10-15. Generic stainless steel but the process to french pressing coffee isn't rocket science unless you're a hipster.

Why is it cracking? I use it for cold brew for over a year now. No cracks.

I've gotten through two of these over the past few years due to cracking. I use them infrequently when I don't feel like dealing with refilling beans in my main coffee maker. Can confirm they are fragile. Won't bother replacing the second one that cracked recently, will try steel instead.

For all the people breaking glass... thats why I went with a double wall, insulated, and stainless steel press.

Probably from pouring hot water over the coffee then stirring and hitting the glass with a utensil. Less of a chance with cold brew since you aren't pouring hot liquid into a cold/room temperature glass cup.

Really tired of the measurement disparity here. Either call it 12 cups and make it 96oz or stop bullshitting people.

I paid this much for a much smaller Bodum and it works great for 2 people. This would be ideal to fill 2 travel mugs.

Why are you sticking spoons in them? That isn't how a French press works. This comes with a rubber/silicone pad to prevent bumps to the glass. I rarely take it out of the sleeve. We have used ours for several years and have no problem with cracking and I am not a gentle person especially while waiting for the first cup of coffee to steep.
