A good deal. Even with only the 550. Fine for light 1080p gaming on low/medium settings.

You'll need to swap the psu.

Seems misleading for them to market this as a gaming desktop with a 550. Yeah you can play some light games on low graphics but you can do the same on integrated Intel CPU graphics. I imagine a lot of people would be disappointed if they got this for themselves or their kid thinking they could get good performance out of this.

Guys and girls, I am at the point where purchasing a gaming desktop has become a reality, but I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on a build as I keep second guessing myself. What should I keep in mind when browsing rigs? Thank You!

A lot of it depends on what your monitor is... a 1080p 60Hz monitor will require SUBSTANTIALLY LESS POWER than a 4k or a 1440p 144Hz monitor.

Do you mind playing games on low settings? The graphics card is entry level but the CPU is pretty good. If you're for a purely gaming desktop, don't buy this one. The highlight of this desktop is the cpu. Wait for a desktop with a better GPU to go on sale.

It depends really. Plan on streaming? Probably want a higher end processor. Just worried about playing some games? Get a higher end GPU and save a little on your processor. I currently run a Ryzen 5 1600 w/ 1060 and only wish I had put a little more money into my GPU but prices were higher at the time. I do streaming at this build seems to work for my immediate needs.

Ahh, interesting. I picked up a Dell monitor on SD a few weeks ago. I'm 99 percent sure that monitor is 1080p 60hz 6ms response time. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!

I don't mind the low settings, but because of many factors, I will certainly take your advice and wait for a rig with a better GPU. Thanks!

used to hear that due to smartphones, tablets and lapotops, desktop PCs are dying fast, no one is buying them and prices far lower then 6 years ago. Seems not true. Still expensive just like what they were 8 years ago.

This. I bought the Newegg Acer deal last weekend and I'm very happy with what I got for 599. The RX580 is great for my 1080p needs. Fortnite is 60 fps at highest settings.
