Stanley hand plane low angle no 62 $102.21 down from $139 at Walmart

I have it and for the price it does a good job. Out of the box much better than my other antique planes without the hours of sharpening and flattening sole and smoothing frog and "chip breaker". Sure it's not 200-400 dollar plane but it's also not a $200-400 plane and it still gives me results I am happy with.

Ordered one. Saved $0.25 with slower shipping and 5% Discover deals cashback.

I've been needing to improve my hand tool selection for woodworking. Looks like the Wood Whisperer suggests that you may be able to get away with just this (style) plane plus a few more blades, assuming you're still using some power tools too.

I have 2 different size electric hand planers and a bench planer and several other hand planes and they are all used on some projects, they each have their place

I might rough plane with an electric but handplaning for finishing will make your sanding job a lot easier and prettier.

This is the most versatile plane you can have in your shop. You can grind separate irons at different angles for other purposes such as scrubbing and smoothing without having multiple planes.
