If you need a 65 liter backpack as a daypack you're carrying way too much gear. This is suited for 2-3 days. I have a previous version of this and I have used it for a 5 day trip with no issues.

Despite the title, this is clearly not a daypack. It should have read "backpacking pack" as it is listed at REI. Backpacking daypack is an oxymoron.

Again, this is clearly not a daypack which are typically in the 15-30Lish range. Know of any 65L range Osprey backpacking packs for $90?

Cheapest I see at REI is $172 for a 50L Atmos..

I used this pack on an overnighter. Great build quality, very comfortable. Only downside is the location of the side pouches for your water bottle which make accessing water difficult if you're not otherwise using a bladder.

Yeah 65 Liters is big enough for any through hiking.

The weight of this bag is middle of the road. Probably good for most people that aren't trying to get into ultralight.

This is the size of the bag our Boy Scouts take to Philmont for a 2 week trek.
REI has their warranty and this meets the needs of many....to carry gear up to 40lbs ....
Sure you can spend 2-3 times as much - but for a legit entry level that is not a one time use, and that wont fail on you after one time.... I cannot see why this is not a good choice.
