Agree. I have no idea idea what the first poster is talking about.

I have a Hamilton with the same H-10 movement and it's been a champ. These Hamilton automatic deals that pop up here are by no means "cheap" in regards to quality. Imho they are the best bang for your buck from the watch deals that pop up here.

By saying it will cost more for service, than for the actual price of the watch (which isn't true based on the Hamilton I have) is indicitave on how good of a price these are being sold for. Not to mention these do come with a two year Ashford warranty.

Funny how when the quartz Hamilton showed up a little while back people were clamoring to spend the extra money for an automatic, and now... Sometimes an OP just can't win on SD laugh out loud

I agree. Hamilton watches rock and I've had good experiences buying from Ashford. Anybody that buys a Hamilton should expect good quality for the price; this is not Rolex or JLC, no $600 service costs required, nor $7k and above price tag.

He's not wrong. This watch is great, no disputes there. But eventually all automatics needs servicing. Might be five years or ten years from now. I think his point is that if you keep this for a lifetime, you'll eventually pay more for servicing than you would for the watch.

I like watches and started collecting cool looking ones (relatively cheap ones, under $200) irrespective of brand and ended up with several which stopped working after 2-3 years. They are all sitting out there in drawer because I don't want to spend ~$15-20 for battery for each one of them...
my next up was Citizen eco drive which i would like to believe will last me atleast w decade.
You gonna pay for it either in battery costs for regular quartz or for service on automatics however over the life of the watch... also got a Aragon automatic diver which is pretty neat and hefty and runs +1 min every week and it's been a year with it and I don't see a reason yet for servicing for years to come.

Dude, that's like saying it's not worth it to buy a $20 timex because, over the life of the watch, you'll spend more for batteries than you spent for the watch ...

I'd much rather have a nice auto and maybe spend $150-ish to have it serviced every 5-10 years than to drop $300 every other year on the latest and greatest Apple watch.

BTW, I say maybe because I have multiple handwinds and autos that are 10-15 years old, have never been serviced, but still keep great time.

Also, all cars are stupid because they cost more in fuel and routine maintenance than they cost to buy, so you should not buy one of those, either. Unless they're really expensive. Because that makes it better somehow.
