Namecheap is having a domain transfer sale with prices up to 50% off for .com, .io. org, and .net transfers. They also have 50% off their new/rebranded Stellar hosting (shared) for $12.44 the first year.

One of the complaints in the last thread was that other registrars have cheaper/free WhoIs protection but Namecheap added that at the end of May and now has free WhoisGuard optional for all domains [namecheap.com].

Just FYI, I believe most domain companies now offer free Whois or an alternative, was have the EU to thank for this. It was packaged in with their GDPR compliance.

Might be a good time to transfer away from GoDaddy... and then when renewal time hits again transfer to namesilo.

Good point jrlcopy, didn't even factor that in. Hopefully since everyone is having their information protected at this point they just do away with Whois as a reference database.

TidalWaveOne, just ride the deals between em all and save where you can. I was using Surpass Hosting out of convenience before but they jumped up to $25 per year for this renewal so that's not happening anymore!

Namesilo seems to have good renewal prices and they don't play games so I'm going to just stick with them until that changes.... I don't think it's worth the time to keep playing pricing and transfer games in order to save a few bucks.

I just rather have 5 or 10 year renewal transfers with NameCheap or GoDaddy. that would be awesome
