So this deal (Tronsmart 20A QC 3.0 charger or USB-PD charger) are offered at the same price. This brings a good apples-to-apples comparison.

Here is some information that may convince people that have a Samsung QC 3.0 USB-C device (such as the S8/S9/Note 8) to get a USB-PD charger rather than a QC 3.0 charger:

1st: Did you know that, although the S8/S9/Note 8 supports QC 3.0, it only supports it up to 15W (9V @ 1.67A)? This was a disappointing fact (my household has an S8 and Note 8), as most of the QC charger that I own go up to 18W (9V @ 2A)

2nd: Did you know that the S8/S9/Note 8 supports USB-PD? It does not do the variable-voltage (9V/12V/etc...), but will support USB-PD @ 15W (5V @ 3A)

In Samsung's eyes, anything that charges > 10W on your device will show "fast-charging" indicator. So my S8 and Note 8 shows "fast-charging" while charging with a USB-PD charger 5V@3A.

Now, in comparison of the 2 chargers in this deal (QC 3.0 or USB-PD), theoretically you could choose either one for your S8/Note 8 and it will charge your device at 15W.
However, my biggest proponent for the USB-PD charger is that it supports a charging *input* of 30W (15V@2A). The QC 3.0 version supports up to 18W (9V@2A/12V@1.5A).

Lastly, as more and more devices that are coming out are in support for USB-PD (Nintendo Switch, iPhone 8/8+/X, MacBook, iPad Pro), you will have more opportunities to leverage USB-PD rather than QC 3.0

Hope you enjoy the read! And feel free to respond if I am mistaken somewhere. Peace

Too bad the PD model doesn't have QC 3.0. Would have been slick.

If you have PD why do you still need QC? Isn't QC basically a proprietary Qualcomm version of USB PD? USB PD is already outputting enough power to run laptops.

I agree. The title is a bit misleading.

The Power Delivery portable charger seems like an excellent deal if the product is of quality.

ZMI/Xiaomi has a QC & PD battery but it's more expensive (QB820/815).

What devices are PD compatible? Also can I used it with quick charge devices? Would it charge faster?

Oh, I see that now... But only 30w output. Not gonna help much with my MBP that needs about 60-87w.
Perfect for an iPad Pro that uses 29w
