I bought this about a year ago to replace my last one that was almost 8 years old. This one was about 10 pounds lighter and didn't have the variable speed (which I'd recomend for not tearing up your carpet). Does not pick up water nearly as well. Used it three times and it broke. Thankfully I was able to return it to Kohl's after emailing their customer service.

They don't make things like they used to.

I usually hate giving credit to SD staff but need to give credit to where credit is due. Needed this since I just experienced a small flood and some carpet has to be washed. Thanks and repped.

Anyone use these before? Does it need to be used in a hot day to avoid molding? Temps are only 75s where I am.

I'm wary of the negative reviews on Amazon. There's a part that's guaranteed to fail after using a couple times, inherent to the flawed design. Nonetheless this is cheaper than renting a carpet washer a couple times so if I can get it to work at least twice, that's a good trade off.

I bought one of these a couple years ago, amazing power! Gets out almost everything it puts down and really gets the carpet clean. I have three big dogs and two kids so this gets used frequently. Excellent price so get one!

I bought a refurbished one before from Walmart for $5X. The brushes stopped spinning after the first use, but it can still clean the carpet. But I returned it. The brush problem is common with this model. $76 is a good price for a new unit. Home depot also sells a similar unit, the lowest price is $100.

Poor cleaning performance according to CR. Their second lowest rated machine. Great price but what does it matter if it's bad at its primary function??

I've owned one for almost three years. Used it a dozen times with no issues and works excellent. Nearly 5-star rating on Amazon with 11,000 reviews. Cleans as well as rental machines, but made of plastic so not industrial. Best to use hot water in the tank. Prespot any carpet stains. I use the rinse setting during the first pass to apply water-only. Then use the wash setting to apply detergent and then the rinse setting again. Each backward pass without pressing the trigger sucks up the most moisture. I have used it during all seasons in CA and never worried about mold. The carpet is almost dry after cleaning and only takes a few hours or overnight to be completely dry. I believe the "defective" part that some people have complained about only clogs because they leave cleaning solution in the machine and allow it to dry. The tank should be emptied and rinsed with water after each use, which should be obvious.

I'd recommend air circulation from fan and open windows.

I have been using this for about a year now. It has worked GREAT!

I have cleaned up all kinds of dog messes and it hasn't messed up one time.

I have recommended this to anyone to asks about a carpet cleaner.

If I had one complaint it would be that the 2 containers, clean water and dirty water, have to be emptied frequently. But if you are cleaning spots, its no big deal at all. If I were wanting to clean my entire house, then that would be tedious constantly emptying and filling.

I think it gets the carpet pretty darn dry. I then put a fan on it if I want it to dry quicker.

Keep the house at 72 in Indiana in the summer and have had no issues at all.

Does anyone know the differences between the other Power Scrub Deluxe Models??

I searched and couldn't find much information on this model FH50153PC.
The most common model seems to be FH50150. Also on Amazon.
link:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...0DER&psc=1

It seems like it's supposed to be diffferent. But I can't figure out why they have different model numbers. And the Hoover website doesn't even have much information on this model. Is it like a low quality outlet model or something.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me!
