I bought this last time it was this price (I think this might be a duplicate post? or maybe a new code, dunno), I tried it out and promptly gave it to my dad.

I have a Note8 and it does fit and not really an issue when using the Cardboard option in Youtube app (after dling the Youtube VR from play store), as well as probably not a big issue in actual VR videos, but when viewing regular website Note8 is a bit too tall so the very top gets sliced off sliiiiightly. i don't think that'd be a huge issue though.

my main irritation is that while you can watch movies without remote, in order to use Daydream or pretty much anything else, you need to have the remote, which is not included and must be purchased separately. the Virtoba remote on amazon is rated badly and around $20-ish, and it sounds like it's down to luck (or something) if the driver on the remote even works with your phone. And you can't buy the Samsung Gear VR remote because those only work with Gear VR.

I weighed my losses (esp as I already have a PSVR for my games and i realized after i bought this that...what am I gonna do with it? VR headsets are not comfortable!) and decided to just give it to my dad instead of bothering with buying a remote that may or may not work that may or may not result in all the hassles of returning stuff. He can figure out if he wants to try to resell the VR headset or do whatever he wants with it lol.

Image wise, it is definitely more clear than my PSVR, but the image is more related to your phone than anything else. This is just a headset that places the VR-producing goggles and a "stand" for your real VR device which is your phone.

having to depend on a separate purchase of a remote that may or may not be well updated is the killer though.
