I have the harbor freight one for 3 years ands it's worked great. A super deal when you apply the 20 or sometimes 25% off coupon.

if you're wondering what the limits of this thing are, here's a similar WEN model failing to split oak: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bMqsO5EowM

I have the Harbor Freight 5 ton log splitter. Is the extra one and a half tons going to make a real difference or not?

Haha thank you for the post. This thing is a kids toy. Better off with an axe and wedges.

Part 3 [youtube.com] of that video shows it having no problem with that log after repositioning.

Thanks. Was able to price match home depot and got it shipped quicker. Also able to get 10% lower price guarantee which they're not suppose to do for online orders but you may be able to talk your way into it. So total w/ tax came up to $210

That second video is their 6ton model, this is 6.5 TON, more power!! Should split oak no problem. plus the reviews look very decent.

$220 is a lot for a log splitter. I would rather just buy my wood already split at $225/cord... too much work cutting and then splitting. I am lazy af.
