Interesting idea, though I assume the switch must always be on in order for it to work as intended? In other words, it will appear "off" even though the switch is on, and only lights when there's motion? Potentially more convenient than those Mr. Beams battery powered standalone installs if you already have spots for security lights.

I bought this exact item back on January 1 for $5.18. It works okay, but the motion sensor is too sensitive. Small insects will trigger it, causing the light to intermittently turn on throughout the night. This was causing my security camera to send "motion detected" email alerts all night long. So, I ended up just turning the light switch "off" so the bulb won't come on, which reduces the usefulness of an item like this.

If only the motion sensitivity could be adjusted to only come on when something the size of a cat or larger walks by, it would be perfect.

Depends on how you use it. For me I'd like it to be more sensitive. Yeah having sensitivity adjuster would be great.

It turns off during the day.

I'm in for three. Discount worked on multiples.

It says "DUSK To DAWN SENSOR", but not sure how well this works. Ordered one anyway...
Thanks OP.

For people who bought this

Can you put it inside a closed glass cabinet like the stock picture and still detect motion ?

Doubt they would show something that would not work. It sends out a signal the glass should not stop.

I have one inside glass. It works well to detect movement. It works so well that I wish I could lower the sensitivity.

I have one in my back yard and it is enclosed by glass. Not only will it work through the glass but it will sense me getting out of bed with a solid wall inbetween me and the light while being enclosed by glass.

That's ridiculous! How does that even happen?

Yeah, I am his neighbor. Very annoying to see flickering light bulb—comes on when I sneeze from my side.

Because it uses radar instead of infrared to detect motion. I have heard others say it detects motion through walls.
