Is the best way to use these to get enough to use when SouthWest has a fare sale? Can I use multiple southwest gift cards in one transaction?

I have used multiple southwest gift cards before to book flights - no issues.

I believe that there's a limit of two gift cards, vouchers, or flight credits per reservation. That actually means a limit of four because there's no extra cost with Southwest to book each direction separately.

The limit is 3 gift cards per transaction. you can get around it by booking flights separately or as one way flights

Per southwest terms and conditions "Southwest gift cards – A maximum of three Southwest gift cards can be applied per passenger on each reservation. If your purchase exceeds the amount available on the three Southwest gift cards, you will only be allowed to use two Southwest gift cards and another form of payment will be required for the difference. "

Just try and book your flights separately when you can.

Yeah book each way separately, that way you can re-price flights easily if they go on sale

actually you can do even better--combine as many gift cards as you want...just buy a ticket with 2 gift cards--then cancel it--then you get a flight credit--then turn around and use that with more gift cards etc....

I have my discover linked too but only shows me my Visa cards when I want to buy. I assume it's just that they dont take Discover.

The idea was a way to use more than the allowed number of GCs to purchase a ticket. So, once used to buy a ticket, the GC values that you used have the same expiration as the credit used for the canceled flight.

Too bad you can't store these GC on your SW account. I risk losing them
