HDMI 2.0 (the common standard) is limited to 4k 60, even if the panel could run faster, your source cant push it through the cable. Also theres almost no VIDEO content above 24 fps besides sports and some rare movies, and you never really want to game on a TV due to lag. And interpolated content looks bad.

Also agree with the people above, it not being a smart TV is a pro, not a con. Invest in an Nvidia Shield Tv, or other device, they are way way better than the smart tv stuff even on brand new several thousand dollar sony's, samsung's and lg's.

If anyone wants to use price protection, only one store has this under $229. Walmart store 651 has this for $199, so you could save $30. Personally I wouldnt buy this when you can get much better with price protection.

I have a 12 year old 43" plasma TV. Nothing is wrong with it except that it has a very glossy surface and for a few hours near sunset it is difficult to see. I don't care about refresh rate or definition, as the 12 year old plasma is plenty good. I would just like one bigger and less glossy. This is bigger and as cheap as I have seen anything. Is it likely to be less glossy?
I do care about audio because I don't know what a sound bar is, but am not that fussy.

yes. the screen is more like a satin/eggshell IMO. i looked at this TV a while back and ended up going with the proscan. they were both ~$300, i forget why i went with the PS, but its been great. i used to have a glossy screen, so it was something i was conscious of.
