I was actually trying to decide whether or not I wanted to get a regular bed or a foam bed. I was leaning toward a regular bed because a foam bed is terrible for sex (not joking - it's a lot more work to have sex on foam...), but this is such a great deal that I couldn't resist. There goes my sex life lol

I found this on a reputable website:

"Innersprings are made from coiled springs and a padded top, which makes them notably stiffer. Therefore they do not usually work well with a reclining bed or adjustable base. However some manufacturers make more flexible models to use in this situation."

So technically yes, but doubt it will work very well.
Memory foam and latex foam beds work the best, innerspring and air beds (multi chamber) can be used but it's not ideal. Single chamber air mattresses won't work at all.

Will an ordinary mattress work or do I have to get an adjustable mattress for this?

Looks like they MSRP for $750-800 at Amazon over the last year. Looks like Amazon recently clearanced the Queen for this price. I bet Walmart just blindly price matched without realizing they were already offering the gift card. Great deal.

Now to determine if I want to get a memory foam style mattress... Could use this in flat mode until I did get one... Decisions decisions

Look into the Zinus foam mattresses. I got one for my parent's spare bedroom and like it better than my Sleep Number at home.
