Platinum is becoming an oddball card. First Uber credits, now this? Worthless to most people. Just like their offers, which are overwhelmingly luxury brands that are overpriced dumb purchases to begin with. Platinum used to be a bundle of savvy backdoor-type benefits. Now it's just a money grab.

Amex Platinum is just not the practical choice anymore with Chase Sapphire Reserve available. More and more, I think Amex is doing this on purpose to push away the people who had it for concrete benefits, and retain only the people who keep one for "prestige" purposes.

I feel the same. I have the CSR, which is an obvious superior. AF is about to come up on the platinum, and I'm canceling.
