Limit of 2 per customer, but no Fry's deal code needed. Shipping is free, and depending on your location, there may be no tax as well.

Report the price to Amazon to see if they'll match!! How? Search for "lower price" on the page. There's a link you can click on to report the price. "Would you like to tell us about a lower price [amazon.com]?"

Most likely, yours (0S03664/0F22408) is the predecessor to this one (0S04005/0F26902 -- 1st release ~March2017). This newer one is significantly faster: Max transfer rate of 215 MB/s (vs 170) and Avg access time of 11.6 msec (vs 15.1).

That faster access time has the side effect of head seeks being more audible; of course, seeks will be relatively infrequent in a typical media storage/streaming scenario.

Do be aware that this (newer) drive will periodically (for 5-10 minutes every few hours, but in the background) perform a surface scan, resulting in a "ka-chunk" seek sound at ~5sec intervals. That whole scanning thing will cease after a few hundred Power-on Hours. Think of it as a feature ("neonatal self-check"), not a bug.

"Warranty any good" is a bit vague, no? Are you asking whether the warranty itself is any good? Are you asking how well HGST handles warranty claims??

I don't see why it wouldn't be fine to use for TV Storage and/or Plex. It's a huge drive with a good warranty and as a NAS drive it's design to just sit there and spin.

For what it's worth I've been running one in my desktop for about 2 years without any issues. The manufacturer warranty is 3 years. I'll probably pick one up from Fry's and use the two 4TB to replace 2x WD Red 2TB drives in a Synology NAS box.

Warranty any good for this drive?
NAS drives are required for network storage but what about any if any, disadvantages to use for TV/Movie storage to Plex?

Ha. At first I thought this was like WD my cloud given the marketing on NAS drive.

Oops for some reason I thought this is a WD red disk. My HGST haven't failed yet so no comment on their RMA process (WD's RMA is simple: register an account, query your remaining warranty using SN, mail old drive to them)

This is the only brand I bought that failed brand new out of the box. I had to ship them the drive and they sent me a refurb drive.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced NAS box to put this in? Using it for movies pictures etc
