This is it smart TV, the Sceptre 55in is not. Maybe base your decision on whether you need a smart TV or not?

This TV received reasonably good reviews from PC Mag with Excellent rating (http://uk.pcmag.com/hisense-50r7e...ense-50r7e) and from Tech Radar with 4 out of 5 stars (https://www.techradar.com/reviews...hd-roku-tv).

i have that walmart TV. It's a great TV and as someone upgrading for a 720p TV from years ago(don't watch a ton of TV content), the quality is fantastic for how much you pay. i've seen people mention that the internal streaming apps don't perform super well, so i went the route of buying the TV and pairing it with a Roku Ultra. Absolutely fantastic set-up. Flawless 4k Streaming, HDR compatibility, etc. It's been a great set-up. I'd personally advise to go that route over relying on built-in Roku functionality.

The 55" TCL TV model that received all the raves was the 6-series (55R617). It received PC Mag's Editor's Choice award (PC Mag [pcmag.com]), and excellent reviews from reliable critics such as Tom's Guide [tomsguide.com], Rtings [rtings.com]. I am not sure that the 4-siries would perform similarly. However, I think for another $70 and you get 5" more, it might be worth it.

The smallest/cheapest 6-series is the 55" model, which would cost $550 on a FP deal (the last FP deal for TCL 55R617) - this would be outside our budget.

Personally, I would not buy an RCA TV. 30 years ago, maybe I would.

Like someone said above, if you don't care about the Roku feature, that might be a good. choice, Note that a 4K Roku device might set you back some $80 (the last 4K Roku deal).

If you are not particularly focused on getting a TCL TV, Costco.com has the 55" version of this Hisense TV in this post for $350 (55" Hisense TV for $350 [costco.com]).
