I've had this monitor for about 6 months. Happy with it in all respects except that the HDR is worthless, and some minor stuff that should have been caught in QA:

Rarely, it won't wake from low power mode properly, and I have to power it on and off or unplug and re-plug power
Rarely, when it comes out of lower power mode, its service menu is on, and I have to do the same steps as above to get out of it
Occasional flashes of garbage pixels on one side of the screen (timing issue?) - this is rare enough that I don't mind it, but I did have to RMA my first one for this issue because it was more frequent

Overall, probably worth it at this price, but be aware that an RMA may be more likely than usual. I would have thought that a firmware update could clear some of these up, but none has been forthcoming.

I don't have an ATI card so cannot comment on the FreeSync.

This MP LCD is very good.

Yes, there is a little backlight bleeding, but hard to beat the clarity, rich colors, and 4:4:4 @ 10-bit cilor depth.

Cheaper to buy a 40" 4K LCD, like Sammy MU6290, but artifacting and only 8-bit color depth (visible color banding) @ 4:4:4 makes today's LCD TVs suck.

This looks like it would be a great monitor for console gaming and PC. Wonder if Xbox oneX supports it for both 4K and HDR modes. I'll have to research that.

backlight issue?
Could be all these cheap monitors lack anti-glare layer on their display panels.

Their rma process stunk for me on a recent monitor that was doa. They took months and multiple calls to issue the refund. Monoprice isn't what it used to be.

Wound up returning two of these due to flickering issues (tried various DisplayPort cables) and ultimately getting store credit I just applied to a 4K LG IPS 27" that I hope isn't a defective piece of crap like this monitor
