It has an extremely limiting viewing angle and only looks great if you are dead center. There are a bunch of articles talking about it and how it will eventually be phased out

This statement is completely wrong. Please stop spreading misinformation. Curved vs flat makes nearly no performance difference. The only noticable difference is aesthetics.

There is no problem other than the added price. The radius of curvature is so slight and viewing distance is so far that you will not even be able to notice the curve.

The only noticable difference between curved and flat is cosmetics.

You might want to try reading your own link before you continue to post incorrect information. It lists viewing angles as a Pro and says the curve doesnt negativity impact the picture until the viewing angle until it is over 35 degrees.

Please stop proving false information in an area that you lack any knowledge of.

Yea if I'm throwing a Super Bowl party and everyone's surrounding the tv they're gonna pass 35 degree viewing angles.... so whats your point? It does affect viewing angles... u said it doesn't at all

A flat Q7 is still a VA panel with color shift and black shift drops at 25 degrees. That means at 25 degree angle black levels drop by 50%. At 35 degrees, the picture quality is bad no matter if it is flat or curved. By the time the curve even starts to make an impact, the picture is already pretty bad. If you care about viewing angle for your SuperBowl party, every single VA TV is going to suck, curved or flat.

So no it doesnt have any noticable impacts. If you compare a flat and curved version of the same TV, the curved version actually provides a better viewing angle.
