The word "NEW" doesn't mean much for GameStop. They sell opened, unsealed games with a big, fat new sticker pasted on it. This is something that frustrates me beyond belief (and yes I've heard the security story 100 times).
This is one of the main reasons why I no longer spend my money there and will be one of the first in line to wave goodbye to the sinking ship when the time comes.

Although I agree with your statement to a degree, I am not looking forward to a time where there are no B&M stores that sell games. With TRU to be the first domino to fall, I think Best Buy, Gamestop and anyone else selling games have a short lifespan. I think this sucks. Honestly, I'd rather have to deal with slightly shady business practices, than never be able to walk into a store to look at games. I may not always buy stuff there, but it's nice to be able to have some human interaction and browse a dang shelf. Maybe I'm in the minority, but ceding all our buying to Amazon will end up far worse than this.

Just FYI on GameStop's Free Store Pickup, you don't actually purchase the game until you go to the store.

When I went to the store to pick up, they wanted to sell me a used version of the Witcher. I told them that it was for a new version via online, and they wouldn't sell a new copy for the price listed online. Complete waste of time.

We keep seeing more and more "new" game deals from GameStop, almost as if the rats are trying to salvage all they can from a sinking ship.

100% agree - it's so blatant as to be insulting.

Important note: I have found this to only be true with B&M stores - if purchasing through Gamestop.com online, the game is shrinkwrapped

I've ordered "new" online before and got sent a used disk. It wasn't as if they were trying to hide the fact as the fact as it came in a blank cover. I complained to them about it and they said they would send a new one. I got another used disk the second time.

Elex for $15 is a no brainer IMO, such a deep, satisfying action RPG.
