I paid $350 for a different vitamix 10 years ago and it just recently died. I called vitamix about this Costco model and found out the motor is the same build as the $499 and $599 models! The only difference is this model doesn't have preset Blender buttons and or led buttons

I just got the 5300 from Amazon for 249 plus tax and was wondering if this is a better deal. Granted that the amazon one was refurb compared to the costco one.

The refurbished models may have a 5 year warranty versus a 7 year for new. I can't confirm if the refurbished motor is newer or older compared to the E320.

Supposedly the same. I'm skeptical, given the specs that say this model weighs ~10 pounds and the other model ~12 pounds.

Overall, good deal.
