Roudybush Daily Maintenance Bird Food, Mini, 10-Pound

List Price: $42.64
Price: $19.99 & FREE Shipping on orders over $25 shipped by Amazon.

Daily Maintenance, Specially steam-pelleted food designed to retain beneficial nutrients while eliminating harmful bacteria. Give your birds the nutrition they need with no artificial colors or flavors and no animal by-products. Contains 11-Percent protein, 7-Percent fat. Use for pet birds year-round and for off-season breeding birds. No additional vitamins or mineral supplements needed.

Only the small & mini sized pellets are on sale. But my large fids are an Ekkie & Grey & they're fine w/the small. I like that size too because there is a lot less waste.

Not that parronts usually need any help spending money on their fids or anything. shake head But just in case anyone needs a quickie suggestion for freight fillers these are a nice price, too.

that's a great price. i just bought some about 6 weeks ago for 23.99 and that was a good price.
I buy small for my pionus and mini for the conures, and the mini is ok for my son's tiel when she comes to visit.

I always throw them in the freezer first just in case there are moths, although I think Roudybush has good quality control on that stuff. Then i take out maybe 8 oz at a time which i put in a mason jar.

Thanks. I am going to try these. My birds are 5 years old like me and need colorful/fun food and always eat the zupreem fruit blend so not sure how happy they will be.

Pellets are nice because they can be crushed all the way down to "dust" if need be. I sometimes roll "known yummy" food in crumbs. Usually I just bury some in warm oatmeal because around here, that's a proven winner every time. But I also use applesauce, mashed banana or some other "good" fruit or veggie mash.

Once they look like they're tolerating the new pellets, I usually offer them w/fruit juice, peanut butter or Red Palm Oil for a little while. I estimate their normal table manners allow for about 1/4 of anything in the dish to end up on the floor. ") So, that's about the point where I figure I can wean them off everything.

I also separate out a pound'ish to work off, rather than leave the big bag open. It really does help keep bulk food from getting bugs or stale for that matter. But whenever I fill the little Roudybush bottle, I usually put a couple of pinches of cinnamon in, too. My guys are cinnamon junkies.

Just suggest anyone who tries it, make an attempt to mix it thru so they don't be flinging the un-coated pellets they happen to pick up. Think we all know how that goes. lol
