just be careful, there are some bks that will refuse to type in your egc # into the keypad, they claim ignorance or the machine is broken or against policy or whatever. this gc is not big enough but also be careful, it's just a number and they'll steal it as well. if you hand them the sheet, just make sure they don't take it to the back to ask their manager....your number will get written down and used like mine did.

I have to agree to the part that they were not aware of how to use it though they never took it back or anywhere for copying. Better option is to show it on the phone and the guy after trying a few combinations was able to apply it.

good point. i have the egc printout (don't remember where i got it from) but i need to figure out a way to put it on my phone so they are less likely to walk away with it. today i won't let them walk away with it because i'm aware of the tactic but i'm just warning others who may not know there are a few dishonest employees that will take down your number and probably not use it in their own store but maybe know others around the city where they can traffic in these codes. if you have $75 or $100 on the egc, you probably won't miss $10 but i keep close track of my balance and when i had about $13 left, the next time i went to use it, it was empty. plus anybody can take an old piece of paper with an old code and photoshop your code onto the egc piece of paper....that'll pass as well. again, this is not just for bk but for any retailer that allows keypad entry.

Came to read the comments. Looks like we're behaving thus far. I don't have high hopes that will last long, however....I'll be back later.

Above post pretty much sums it up. The cashiers don't have a clue how to process these certificates. You don't get an actual gift card that can be scanned, it's just a certificate code that you have to print. Show the code to a BK cashier, and they'll fiddle with the register and claim that it can't be used because they can't manually enter a code. Proceed to pay with cash and save certificate for another store (that will also turn it down).

my gift card purchased from amazon prints out with instructions and there are a couple of good looking colour logos on it to boot. i am batting 75/25 where 75% of the time, the cashier will reluctantly accept but will always have to either ask the manager to show them or start reading the instructions as if i'm the only one who does this; they act like i'm not paying with real money and then they act shocked with the register collects. 25% of the time, they will tell you no way goodbye and give all kinds of excuses from manager won't let me and he's not here so don't ask to keypad is not working for manual input to register software got updated and they're locked out to you look like a thief and we're not going to let you steal 2 for $4 bk breakfast sandwiches.

Just put the card into Android Pay and it'll give you a scannable bar code.
