Hi, would this work for the long term for an elderly parent who mainly goes on internet and YouTube? Thanks!

Should be fine for light use. And with 4gb ram, will run 10 fine. 99.00 bucks is a great deal.

I think the specs are fine for casual use. My biggest concern would be when the machine tries to update windows 10 and the size of the HD. 32gb is barely enough to cover that update with all the stock already installed.

Should be okay, for that use, but also consider a Chromebook too, much less to deal with from a support side.

Anyway I can get 2 of them with 2 rebates? Fine print for rebate says

Limit one (1) rebate per qualifying rebate offer, per person, billing address, company, household and receipt/invoice/packing slip during the eligibility period, except where prohibited by law

First, find yourself a wife. Buy one under her name and ship to home. Second, find yourself a job. Buy one under your name/email and ship to work.

For the big semi-annual updates you can actually use a thumb drive to provide scratch space/buffer for the upgrade to actually work. I've had to do this on my Win10 tablet that only has 32gb of space. After the upgrade is done you run disk cleanup to get rid of any extra baggage and you're back to square one again.

I don't know much about this processor but I am guessing it's entry level. I would suggest to look for chromebook there was one thread with walmart deal of 14 inch at $150. its new and full HD. and Chromeos will run better at this low end spec and it will meet your need for surfing internet , youtube etc
