Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park [amazon.com] and The Lost World [amazon.com] Kindle ebooks, $2 each. TODAY ONLY.

Jurassic Park

An astonishing technique for recovering and cloning dinosaur DNA has been discovered. Now humankind's most thrilling fantasies have come true. Creatures extinct for eons roam Jurassic Park with their awesome presence and profound mystery, and all the world can visit them—for a price.

Until something goes wrong. . . .

In Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton taps all his mesmerizing talent and scientific brilliance to create his most electrifying technothriller.

The Lost World

It is now six years since the secret disaster at Jurassic Park, six years since the extraordinary dream of science and imagination came to a crashing end—the dinosaurs destroyed, the park dismantled, and the island indefinitely closed to the public.

There are rumors that something has survived. . . .

Loved the movies when I was growing up but the books were SO much better.

Jurassic Park was the first time I ever heard a movie announced, then rushed out to read the book first.

And so began a lifetime of disappointment Wink

I enjoyed both the movie and the book because I tend to view them as separate items inspired by the same premise.

That said, like other Crichton books, I was still a little disappointed in how he handled the ending.

Jurassic Park.

The Lost World is much better than the movie though. Worth reading.

I recall reading these books laying on the back seat that folded into a bed in my parents conversion van on a trip down to Florida. Great books, I'll have to re-read them.

Reading books before movies, and movies always falling short?

It is a common theme between movies adapted from books. Jurassic Park was obviously a very good movie. But the book was at the next level of greatness.

Everyone, who has seen the Jurassic Park movie, should read the book. You will understand how amazing the book is and what you were missing by watching the movie alone.

The Lost World book is not as good as the Jurassic Park book. But it is still "significantly" better than the movie.
